I didn't write this, but I completely agree. I'm all about telling people nice things and giving support, but I always make the WTF face when I see it.

Plus, there were how many other posts about it afterwards? It sucks that somebody else's confession probably got skipped over so we could read that people disagreed 3 different times.

I personally dont see the big deal, its just a way to express on the interenet to help comfort some one by wishing they could give them a hug. I post *hugs* and I dont give a shit who finds it odd or stupid I will keep doing it if I feel the person could do with a warm caring hug.

I'm a lot less annoyed with you using asterisks than I am with putting 20 parentheses around it. What a weird thing for me to get upset about, lol. I guess it makes sense, because I also hate when people say something and then put !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!1!!!!!!!!!one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after it.

I do the same with the *Hugs*. I totally agree with Aussie, I'll keep doing it and if someone doesn't like it they can ignore the post or the comment. Why anyone gets so upset over someone else being nice is beyond me.

((hugs)) doesn't bother me- its one of the few nice things anyone posts on the site! However, "put on your big girl panties" annoys the shit out of me. I'm not really sure why, except that its overused. I even got an email from our FRG POC telling all the women that have been being catty to each other to put their big girl panties on. Straw, meet camel. LOL

There's one reason and one reason only why ((HUGS)) doesn't annoy me. When I was 11 and had a surgery, my grandma who lived 900 miles away, sent me a card that had (((((((((((((((((((((((((you)))))))))))))))))))))) on the front and inside said "Did you feel that? That was me sending you a cyber hug. Feel better soon." To this day, that card is the favorite I've ever received.
